Quick and Easy Easter card idea

Easter swap card wm

One of the highlights of attending team meetings is to swap with the other demonstrators. This is a card that I created for our Spring Theme swap. The highlight is that I used the Balloon punch to quickly make my eggs! Some washi, a little ribbon, and tone on tone stamping to create accents. Finish with sponging a darker edge to bring a little "grunge" to a "frilly" card!

Lacy Greetings

Wedding sab card wm

Here is a quick and easy card that is both pretty and a classic layout that can be used over and over. I offered this at a recent local cardmaking party as either a wedding (as shown) or with different greetings within the same stamp set as a sympathy card. Imagine the color choices you could use! This design is so versatile! The Delicate Detail stamp set is not for sale, it is only available for FREE during Saleabration with a qualifying purchase ($50).

Go to Gift Card Holder

This will become your go to gift card holder! Mine is shown as a wedding card, but with different paper, greetings, and colors it could easily work for a baby gift, birthday gift, or any congratulations card, such as a housewarming. I presented this at our recent team meeting as a group Make n Take, and I am very flattered and honored to have my dear friend Lyssa create her own tutorial for this card! You can see hers on her blog: www.songofmyheartstampers.com. I waited until today to post this to my blog because as usual I want my newsletter subscribers to get the first chance at the information!

I have a full tutorial available as well with a list of products used. I hope you like this. It was shared with me, and I shared it with my fellow demos, and now with you!

Spring Forward

Spring is on it's way! This weekend the time changes! Are you ready for that?! I sure am! We have had a LION start to March, so I am hoping it will go out like a lamb. So far just more LION!  I don't know where you live, but we had very stong winds blowing thorough our area (southern Wisconsin) and there are pieces of my roofing, a table, and some tree branches that have arranged themselves in my yard overnight, that I am not very excited about rearranging. But, it is what we have to do to get ready for Spring and pretty flowers and warm temperatures, so OKAY! Just for a few more days you can be strong winds, and temperatures can be cool, and rain can come, but by the end of the month! That is it! I am done with you!

Talk about things that are almost done - Sale-A-Bration is ending in just three weeks! I don't want you to miss out on any of the fun freebies. One of my favorite is the card tin. UPDATE: The Card Tin is completely gone! Out of Stock! No longer available! Sorry! I missed out too!

I plan to use mine for Christmas gifts. I will put the tins in my stash and then as I make some cards I will add them to my tins. UPDATE: If you love the tin idea for holiday gifts, may I suggest the Designer Tin of CardsIt is the same great tin, with dividers, and a whole card kit that includes the card bases, envelopes and some embellishments already! You just need to add the stamp set and ink (Mint Macaron is one of the suggested colors for the kit and I gave you my tip on ordering the retiring colors below). Purchasing both the Tin kit and the stamp sets qualifies you for a Sale-a-bration freebie. So if you place your order right now maybe you can still get the Hey Chick stamp set! Fingers crossed! Spit over your left shoulder, click your heels together three times and repeat after me, "There's no place like home. There's no place...." Oh. Wait. I saw that in a movie once. Just get your Sale-a-bration order in as soon as you can and you won't miss out on any more of the freebies!  Don't hesitate, you might miss out! Place your order today!

Build your stash! It is that time of year to get your refills and stash of cardstock and embellishments for the outgoing In-Colors. Officially they retire at the end of the catalog (May 31), but you won't want to wait for the retirement list. Usually, by the time it comes out at the end of April, the In-Colors are sold out! Take a look at a few of my favorite colors:  Mint Macaron or Watermelon Wonder for some spring and summer fun! If you don't have the ink pads yet, collect all five but remember to get the ink refills too so that your stamping fun can last for years longer!  There are beautiful paper packs12x12 cardstockembellishments, and markers that are also available right now! As a bonus, until the end of the month you can build your stash AND still qualify for Sale-A-Bration freebies! Maybe you will be able to get a card tin or two yourself!

So remember on Saturday night before bed to set the clock forward an hour so we can Spring Forward! Remember we gain longer days of sunshine soon so that one hour of sleep is okay to lose! Enjoy the lion as we prepare for the lamb!

Thanks for Everything everyday

Quick and easy thank you card idea using the painters tape technique

I can not begin to say Thank You enough! I think it is so important to send thank you cards and to say thank you when it is due. Honestly, can't you think of at least one person who deserves your thanks everyday? I can. My neighbor comes over and plows out my driveway anytime we get more than an inch or two of snow. He is the same guy who helped us get a dead skunk out of our basement. A simple card can't be enough for that kind of help, but it certainly is a start! Who needs to get a thank you card from you today?

Back to my project this week! This card is super easy to recreate yourself. I created the background using "Painter's Tape Technique". You "stamp" the stripes using painters tape that has been dipped in the ink pads.

Here are some tips for you:

  • You will need a piece of painters tape for each color. No cross contamination allowed.
  • Measure your piece to be longer than the cardstock you are stamping on to. I used a piece about 6" long so that I had enough for the 4" cardfront and had room for my fingers to not get them in the ink!
  • You can get the complete instructions here
  • I used the color combination from the Tasty Treats paper. Among the colors are: Peekaboo PeachWatermelon WonderPear Pizzazz, and Chocolate Chip. I don't know if I am drawn to these colors because they are so pretty or because they sound so yummy! I could have used Pool Party ink, but opted to use that color for my ribbon accent. I love all of the stitched ribbon! It is so pretty!

It is still Sale-a-bration time! Stampin' Up! just added three new rewards to the freebies you can get with your qualifying order! Guess what? If you purchase the items used on this card, you will qualify for one Sale-a-bration reward. It will be hard to choose which one! It might be easier, if you had copies of the catalogs to look through at home. Please drop me a line if you want to receive both the Occasions and the Sale-a-brations catalogs of your very own!

As always, I hope this project inspires you to create your own thank you cards. I'd love to see what colors you choose and which embellishments and stamp sets you use on your Painter's Tape technique card! Please post your creation to my Facebook page!
