Goodbye to Music from the Heart

Music from the Heart

Music is its own language.

It makes people happy and can take them through their sorrow.

There are several songs that bring to mind fun events in my life.

Celebration by Kool and the Gang takes me to Duluth 1984.

But just as easily there are those songs that bring us to tears.

The Dance by Garth Brooks brings memories of a loved one gone too soon.

I bet there are some songs that do the same for you!

Today I want to share some card ideas using the Music From the Heart stamp set.

This set is on the Last Chance list and it's perfect for the music lovers in your life.

Lets take a look at three ideas!

Stamping Tips:

Use the stamps to create a background.

The card on the left and the one on the bottom both use stamps from the Music From the Heart stamp set to create an interesting background.

On the left they used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the treble clef and then the heart is colored in using an accent color (Calypso Coral) with a watercolor technique.

One of my favorite watercolor techniques is to use the ink from an ink pad with a blender pen. I find I have the best control with this method.

The card on the bottom uses tone on tone stamping.

This is achieved by using the same ink color as the cardstock base.

Another cool technique is used on this card. The staff lines are done by stamping off. This is when you ink up the stamp, then lightly press it onto a scrap piece of paper to take some of the ink off the stamp and then stamp the remaining inked stamp onto the card. It creates a lighter version of the full strength ink. It can actually create the look of two different colors.

The musical note are stamped with full strength ink.

Make a card! Be the reason someone smiles today!

The card on the top uses pretty paper to pack a punch!

The cardbase on this card is covered completely with a piece of paper.

This adds interest with very little effort.

All Stampin' Up! paper packs lets you confidentially mix colors and patterns because each sheet in the pack goes together so well with the other sheets in the pack.

The stamping on this card is very simple in the tone on tone technique mentioned above.

This time the Crumb Cake ink is stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock.

The guitar is made using two stamps from the set a treble clef and the neck of the guitar.

There are a couple of die cuts used to add interesting edges.

On the accent paper is cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and the square white piece is cut using the Stitched Shapes dies.

Both of these dies are MUST HAVES for your collection!

Here is the complete product list for the top card on the photo:

Let these cards inspire you!

Pick out some of your favorite colors and stamp sets and create your own versions of these cards!

Retirement 2020

No I'm not retiring! The 2019-20 Stampin' Up! Catalog is retiring!

With the end of the catalog comes the end of some products completely and the retirement of bundled items.

Oh, there will still be bundles, but anything bundled in the catalog right now will not be available with the 10% off after this catalog ends.

I know it all seems confusing, but I've attached the retirement list for the main catalog and you might want to see the list for the Spring Catalog as well.

This will show you the items that are going away completely and which ones are just going out of the bundle they are now in.

This will be my 20th year of catalog retirement!

That includes my customer days as well.

This is what I know for sure: the bundles retire. The paper packs (usually) retire. The InColors for 2018-2020 will retire. If you haven't gotten ink pads, refills, or cardstock in either 12x12 or Letter size do it NOW while you can. They will sell out first!

Most of the pretty paper packs will retire (except maybe the Color Family packs).

Ribbon and embellishments usually have a big turnover in retirement, and sometimes there are tools that retire. You'll want to snatch these up right away!

When they sell out they will be gone.

The stamp sets that are retiring usually are available longer (like closer to a week before the end of the catalog).

You'll want to get them too, but for the next three weeks you want to concentrate on the non stamp items for your orders.
Last Chance Products - Retirement 2020

You can go right to my online store: SHOP HERE to have your order shipped directly to your home.

Let me calm your fears! The Blends aren't retiring. They are doing away with the option to buy the light and dark separately. They will only come in Duo packs. So, it is being repackaged.

Yes! The SNAIL adhesive is being retired, but it'll be replaced with something awesome. So if you want to grab some to tide you over until the new catalog launches in June. You should do that.

If you have any questions on the retirement list, please send me an email and I'll help you the best I can.

Enjoy the retirement as we prepare for a NEW annual catalog coming in June!

Two Sided Paper Card Idea

Lb 1 wm

Make a card and send a card to one of them today! To help you do just that I'm sharing a simple and easily changed card idea that will work for any occasion! Just last week my friend Jessica shared a card idea that allowed both sides of a pretty paper to be shown on a card front. I loved that idea so I used the same idea to create this card for my first Social Distancing Card Class in the mail. I took a sheet of 12"x12" paper and cut it into three strips 4" wide. Then I cut those strips in half to be 4" x 6". Finally I cut each of these half into 4"x 5 1/4" pieces which left a 4"x 3/4" strip. I flipped that piece over and used it as an accent on the front of my card. Simple, brilliant, and beautiful! Let's take a look at the details!

Simple Thank You card

Cards mailed out in march

Simple thank you card idea. Using shiny paper and coordinating colors. using coordinating punches adds interest.
