Meet my Team Pt 3

Meet Anna! She is someone who has had life long creativity!

My dear cousin Anna is one of the most amazing people I have ever known. She has been an inspiration to me my whole life.

As early as I can remember she has been doing some kind of crafting; whether it was crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking, cardmaking, or cooking/baking. She is an excellent cook and has even done it professionally.

Franksville, WI. Anna lives in southeast Wisconsin not too far north of the Illinois border. She had gone to stamping nights with a lady local to her for many years. That all changed when I started my stamping business.

She is one of the first people who helped me build my business. She started coming to my local fun nights.

It was always a hike for her, but she did it because it allowed us to stamp together and visit. They have always been good times with someone I love and appreciate!

Born Teacher. She was always lending a helping hand to less experienced stampers. While not known to them, it was very obvious to me that she was being what she has been her whole life - a teacher.

She is the oldest child of nine so teaching, guiding, leading is just who she is. She has always lead by example and set a standard for others to follow.

She is a class act!

We have bonded over our love of stamping. She signed up to get emails for weekly inspiration. She would order online when she needed something.

She became a  Paper Pumpkin subscriber!

Delightful surprise! Then one day she told me she wanted to get a discount on her orders. She wanted to order a Starter Kit!

She joined during a time with great deal and got two free stamps sets!

She wanted more than a discount. She was building a business of her own.

She would get orders from family and friends. She dove into training and activities to help her grow her business.

We even got to be roommates at a fun Stampin' Up! convention!

Only you know your own timing. Just recently she decided she needed to step away for awhile. Other areas of her life needed attention instead.

It's not the end of the world. She gets to keep the product she has ordered. She gets to keep the bonuses she earned. She has the inspiration and knowledge that she has collected during her time in the "business".

It really is, No harm. No foul.

One of the best parts of her time with Stampin' Up! is that we are closer now than we were as children! That's not going to change!

I love her! I admire her! I count her as one of my dearest friends and I am still in awe of her, like I was when I was a child.

Anna gave it a try! Her circumstances changed along the way and her business wasn't going to fit in as well as it had. That's the only thing that changed.

She is going to continue to love stamping and we will stamp together. She will go back to being a customer.

She just doesn't get a discount when she orders. But, she gave it a try!  Sometime in the future, she could give it another try!

So may I suggest to you, just give it a try

You never know what will happen!

This is a flexible opportunity. Maybe you just want the latest great deal!

Right now you can get $125 in product for only $99 plus you get to add two stamp sets of your choice for FREE! No price limit!

It's BEYOND a great deal! It is like you are getting nearly 60% off your order!

Plus you have the opportunity to continue to get at least 20% off all future orders! Who wouldn't love that!?

Maybe you want to build a business like Anna did! There is online training available, Facebook Groups full of other crafters that inspire and share, and there is one on one training available if you would like.

Only you know your timing! Maybe you tried it once and it didn't quite work. Let me just say, "that was then, this is now!" Give it a try again!

You decide what to do with the opportunity!

Do as little or as much as YOU want to do!

I'd be happy to help you have the best experience based on your needs!

Birthday Card Bash - Jan 2018

Birthday card ideas

The first Birthday Card Bash is in the books and was a big success!

Eight card ideas were presented for the attendees to make. There was a nice variety of cards perfect for kids, feminine, masculine, or generic (could be used for anyone). Some of the cards were subtle and classic. Some were bright and festive. There were funny cards and sentimental ideas.

The best part is the cards were designed by two different designers; my stamping partner Kari and me. We both have a fairly clean and simple style, but they are just different enough that variety is abundant. I will be showcasing my cards in my newsletter for the next couple of weeks, so if you would like step by step instructions, join my list. I'd love to help you create these cards yourself. I will show Kari's cards (without instructions) on my Facebook page, so if you want to see close ups of all the cards, please come to my page and click on LIKE so you can see them first!

Meet My Team - Pt 2

Meet Patricia. She's a retired gal who made the choice to let her creative side loose and to have a chance at earning money too. She joined Stampin' Up! in July 2016.

There wasn't a special offer going on then like there is right now! She thought, "I love the product, why not get a discount?"

She is go getter! Patricia makes cards for her local hospital and other local charities in Bloomington, IL where she lives. She also quilts and amazes everyone with her energy!

Check out her FB business page: Happy Memories Creations!

She hit the ground running from her first day and earned two rewards that are only available to new Demonstrators.

She also quickly earned a bigger percentage from her sales in her first 4 months in her business!

Age has no limits! Maybe this is the CAREER CHANGE you have been looking for as well! Why not bring joy to yourself and others while you earn money or at least get a nice discount on your crafting supplies?!

Pat was my first long distance team member and we never missed a beat with any training she desired.

There is an enormous private Facebook group available 24-7, where everyone is so helpful.

We email, chat on Messenger, or talk on the phone depending on what is needed. We have built a strong friendship that I treasure!

I'd be happy to help you have the best experience too!

Layers of stamps can say I love you

Hearts front lb wm

There are lots of pretty layers of stamps used on this card. It is easy to put together but looks like it took lots of work. It uses a pretty color combination to create a non-traditional Valentines color palette that is perfect year round to tell someone you love them.

Behind the Scenes - From Old to New Pt 2

Playful panda lb card wm

You got to see where this design started from and some preliminary ideas. Now you can see the finished card. There are some changes, such as I went back to a circle instead of a heart shape for the focal point. I did add embossing to the pink layer and I dressed up the existing heart on the bear with an enamel shape.

Behind the scenes - From Old to New Pt 1

I want you to get inside my head!

I thought you might like to see and read about some of the behind the blog scenes. As I am getting ready for my first cardmaking party of the year I want to use products from the new Occasions and Sale-A-bration catalogs, but I save myself some time by recycling an old layout.

Bear Hugs love you this much

I loved this cute card that I presented last February, but the Bear Hugs stamp set and framelits are retired, so I only use them for personal use, not for a paid event.

In this post, I am going to talk you through using one card's layout for another card's design.

Let's get started on how to break down a card design.

First, you need to determine what it is you want to duplicate and what is okay to change.

On my new card I want to change the card from a top opening to a left fold opening card. So, this means I will go from a horizontal layout to a vertical layout.

I know that I love this color combination of Pirouette Pink, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White. I will use the colors together again, but in a different arrangement.

Maybe something like this -

I love the tone on tone stamping on the original card so I am going to do a little of it on this new card.

Then for my feature stamp I am going to use the Playful Pandas which are available as a Free set during Sale-A-bration as a Level One gift with a $50 order.

More specifically I am going to use the Panda holding a sign. Do you see where I am going with this already?

This is my design process on this card to this point. I may decide to do some dry embossing on the Pink Pirouette piece to give it some dimension, but I haven't decided that yet. Often times I do some practice background pieces to decide if I want a little something on there or not.

I hope you have enjoyed "getting inside my head" as I design a card. My goal is to inspire you to take what you have to pull together a card that is based on one of my cards.

Check back on Saturday when I will show you the finished card and supply list!

Technique Tuesday - Eclipse Technique

You have probably been seeing the cards ideas all over the place that have a word or a shape cutout of patterned paper or with stamping on a layer. I first showed you the technique when I Case-d a card I had seen on Pinterest. Mine used the cat punch had stamping on the cat but it let the Night of Navy cardstock show through.

Cat eclipse technique

I wanted to share a great video that shows you exactly how to do this technique using any punch or framelits that you have on hand! Check out the video and have fun trying this technique for yourself.

You probably have seen this card technique done most often with the Large Letter Framelit Dies. I highly recommend that you invest in these versatile products starting January 2 so that you get the added bonus of earning a Sale-A-Bration reward or two! Watch for all the new products arriving with the start of the new Occassions catalog and Sale-A-Bration on January 2nd.
