Honor Flight Card October 2018

Honor flight card 0ct 2018

Our team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators called the Song of My Heart Stampers headed up by Lyssa Zwolanek and based in Watertown, WI has been providing cards for the Badger Honor Flights from Madison and Milwaukee, WI for the past many years. Kathy Van Duser brought this worthy cause to our group and heads up the project every month. This month we decided to do a work night instead of holding a team meeting. Several of us prepped cards and brought them for everyone to put together. The card is based on a design I saw on Pinterest, but I changed some things up to use products that I had on hand. Take a look at the supply list and the step by step instructions.

Card Basics
Card base (Crumb Cake) half a sheet 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded in half to make a left side opening card front 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Banners are 1" wide in various lengths. (Real Red, Pacific Point, and Whisper White).

Scrap pieces of cardstock (Crumb Cake and Whisper White) Approx 1 1/4" strips of both.

Using star stamps from the Wood Words and Pick a Pennant stamp sets, stamp onto cardfront using Crumb Cake ink to create a tone on tone effect.

Tip: Stamp the larger single star first in groups of three. Fill in using the smaller stamps in the open space.

Use the Triple Banner Punch to trim the ends of the 1" strips of cardstock to make banner ends.

Stamp the Thank You greeting from the Wood Words stamp set using Real Red ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. Punch out using the 1" circle punch or the retired 7/8" Scallop Punch.

Punch an accent piece from Crumb Cake paper using the punch from the Christmas Traditions Punch Box.

Arrange the punched banner pieces in a layered arrangement on the front center of the card. Adhere using SNAIL or your favorite adhesive.

Adhere the circle greeting piece onto the accent piece using SNAIL.

Put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the combined piece.

Attach the greeting combined piece to the banners.
