Collar Fold and Butterfly

Lb 2 crop

The collar fold is such a fun way to show off two beautiful patterns on the same sheet of paper. I have seen so many cards with this layout, that I wanted to give it a try myself. I presented this card at a recent cardmaking party and everyone loved it. I selected the rest of the colors from the paper, so a bright yellow butterfly seemed like the perfect choice! Another fun detail is the gold sequins that seem to show the butterfly lifting off the page and the cute clip that we used to hold the sequins in place. I heard more than once, "I didn't see those in the catalog" or "I've seen them but didn't know how to use them on a project. Thanks for the idea." You're welcome! Can't wait to see what you come up with using the collar fold yourself!

TIPS:
Standard cardbase: Crumb Cake
Paper overlay: 4" x 5 1/4".

Go down 2 3/8" from the top and cut in from the right side 2" to create the knotch for the collar.

Fold the collar back from the top and from the bottom to the knotch.

Use dimensionals to keep the collar down.

Attach the butterfly and the bottom of the gold sequins with glue dots.
